Grant Funds Available to Establish Agricultural Commissions Grant funds to establish or support a local Agricultural Commission are available for 26 municipalities in the Interstate 93 region. Local Agricultural Commissions are being established across New Hampshire to protect agricultural lands, preserve rural character, provide a voice for farmers, and encourage agricultural-based businesses. Per NH RSA 674:44-e, municipalities may establish an Agricultural Commission, "for the proper recognition, promotion, enhancement, encouragement, use, management, and protection of agriculture and agricultural resources, tangible or intangible, that are valued for their economic, aesthetic, cultural, historic, or community significance within their natural, built or cultural contexts".
